Sacramento Cultural & Linguistic Center, formerly the Southeast Asian Assistance Center, has been a pillar of support for Southeast Asian refugees since 1977. With a rich history dating back 35 years, the center officially incorporated in 1990. In February 2023, it moved to the Arden area and is currently undergoing a dynamic re-branding.
Now known as SCLC, the center is not only expanding its services but also embracing a fresh approach. Beyond linguistic support, SCLC is introducing cultural programs to engage and celebrate diverse communities. While staying true to its commitment to limited English proficient (LEP) communities, the center is taking a more comprehensive stance.
SCLC's mission endures — providing assistance and support in various realms, from legal and health issues to community conflicts and immigration problems. This evolution reflects SCLC's unwavering dedication to embracing and celebrating the cultural diversity of the communities it serves.
SCLC’s mission is to bridge the cultural and linguistic gap between diverse communities while empowering immigrants and refugees to become thriving and contributing members of society.
